Fox River approaching flood stage

flooding-stock-dh-benchWe’ve all been enjoying the warm weather and sunshine today, but the prime conditions for snow melt and frozen ground are driving up the level of the Fox River. Consequently, the National Weather Service has issued a hydrologic outlook for the Fox effective until further notice.

The Fox River at the New Munster measuring station was at 9.84 feet at 10 a.m. 10 feet is flood stage. The forecast is for the river to reach a maximum height of 10.4 Sunday.
