The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning starting at midnight tonight and lasting until 6 p.m. Saturday.

The local forecast calls for our area to see from 3 to 6 inches of snow accumulation during that time. The hourly NWS forecast for snowfall should start to intensify around 3 a.m. and continue strong through 5 p.m. Winds will be a little less strong than recently — 5 to 10 mph Saturday. The high temperature Saturday will be about 26.

The NWS advises travel during the storm period only in the case of an emergency.

High temperatures will be in the teens Sunday and Monday with a good chance of snow returning Tuesday — 70 percent chance during the day and 80 percent at night. Wednesday, at this point, has a 50 percent chance of snow as well.
