Winter weather advisory starting earlier; wind chill watch Mon.-Wed.

The National Weather Service has moved issued a winter weather advisory for Sunday and a wind chill watch from Monday to Wednesday.

Sunday’s winter weather advisory starts at 3 a.m. and extends to 6 a.m. Monday. Snow is expected to start falling after 3 a.m. and taper off later in the morning. Wind chill reading will continue to be cold and there may be drifting and blowing snow in places. Snow accumulation could be 1 to 3 inches.

The wind chill watch is set for Monday at midnight through noon Wednesday. Wind chills could be in the -20 t0 -35 range Sunday night and Monday and a little colder Monday night and Tuesday morning, in the -35 to -45 range.

School officials said earlier this year they consider closing school with a -35 windchill.

While temps will recover into the teens Wednesday, they are not expected to top 20 until next Saturday.
