The Wheatland Center School Student Council would like to wish a big “thank you” to everyone that donated to the school’s Annual Food Drive. Because of donors thoughtfulness and generous spirit, the Student Council was able to deliver over 4,000 cans and other non- perishable items to the Food Pantry in Twin Lakes. Your generosity will be greatly appreciated by many people over the coming months. As part of the food drive, the Student Council sponsored a contest for the most food items collected. Congratulations to Jennifer Phillips’s fourth grade class for bringing in almost 3,000 items and Kelly Coulson’s fifth grade class for collecting 206 items. Both classes earned an ice cream sundae party for their efforts. Several other classrooms also earned hot chocolate and/or candy bar for their efforts. A special thank you to Dennis Beckley of Specialty Foods in Kenosha who donated an entire pallet of food for the food drive.
