Rep. Samantha Kerkman (R-Randall) this weekend attended the Court of Honor Ceremony for Ty Lane of Troop 328 at Christ Lutheran Church in Paddock Lake. Ty is the son of Robert and Laura Lane of Brighton. The ceremony recognized Ty for earning the title of Eagle Scout, the highest possible rank in the Boy Scouts of America. Ty’s accomplishments while working to become an Eagle Scout were many. Though Ty will continue to earn additional merits and awards for another year, he has already earned 65 merit badges, donated 126 service hours, camped 162 nights, held numerous leadership positions, and earned several awards some of which include the Messenger of Peace Award, 100 Nights of Camping Award and the Emergency Preparedness Award. Further, Ty garnered patches to recognize his work including the Recruiter Patch and the 100th Anniversary Service Patch. Ty’s dedication to the Boy Scouts of America and his earning of the title of Eagle Scout is truly a praiseworthy accomplishment and a shining illustration of his commitment to community.
