Snow update: 3 more inches today, more tonight and tomorrow likely

snowword-mf-jdurham-webWe measured about another 3 inches of snow accumulation between 8:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. at westofthei.com headquarters. That would be a total of 7 inches since 2:30 p.m. Tuesday.

The National Weather ServiceĀ local forecast suggests we could add a little more tonight (1 to 2 inches) and tomorrow (another inch).

A lake effect snow advisory remains in effect until 3 p.m. Thursday.

Looking a bit farther down the road, temperatures should warm-up some toward the end of the week before taking a drastic plunge. The high temperature for Saturday is expected to be 31 but just get to 14 Sunday. Monday is expected to see falling temperatures through the day with the temp at about -13 (not wind chill) by 5 p.m. That bitter trend is expected to continue Tuesday with a high of -6 before warming up to a high of 12 on Wednesday.
