Motorcyclist seriously injured in crash in Brighton

A motorcyclist was seriously injured in a crash this afternoon in Brighton.

From the Kenosha County Sheriff’s Department:

On 11-09-13 at 1451 hours (2:51 p.m.) Kenosha County Sheriff’s Deputies responded with Kansasville Fire and Rescue to the scene of a very serious motorcycle crash. The driver of the Motorcycle was taken by Flight for Life to Froedtert Memorial Hospital. A single motorcycle was Eastbound on STH 142 / Burlington Road in the Town of Brighton. In the 23600 block of STH 142 the operator of a Harley Davidson motorcycle failed to negotiate the curve. The motorcycle left the roadway and the operator was ejected. The operator sustained serious head injuries. He was not wearing a helmet. Flight for Life was summoned and landed at Brighton Grade School. Deputies are still working to confirm the identity of the operator, who remains in severely critical condition at Froedtert Hospital. Speed is believed to be a factor in this crash.

UPDATE 7:49 p.m. — Motorcyclist identified by Sheriff’s Department as Jeffrey D. Snell (53 years old, Town of Brighton resident). Snell remains in severely critical condition.

    If seatbelts are required in cars and trucks, helmets should be required for ALL motorcyclists!!!
