Fire Prevention Week was observed at Salem School last month. Town of  Salem Fire/Rescue personnel came to the school and did some activities with students including students going through the Smokehouse, observing how quick a fire spreads, learning proper procedures of when one encounters a fire, and a poster contest focusing on kitchen safety. Kenosha Fire Department Battalion Chief Matt Haerter also volunteered his time during Fire Prevention Week teaching Salem School students about fire safety.

  1. Thanks for sharing this story.

Just a reminder that we changed our clocks this past weekend and we should be changing the batteries in our smoke detectors and CO detectors too.

One child dies in a fire every day.

Smoke detectors save lives. Be sure yours are working.
