Paris Plan Commission to consider plans for indoor shooting range

The Paris Plan Commission will meet on Monday, Oct. 21 at 7 p.m. to consider a petition for a conditional use permit.

The petition is from Brozak Holdings LLC (owner) and John Merideth, DBA Elite Tactics and Training Center, for a Conditional Use Permit to allow the installation and operation of a 4- lane indoor shooting range and retail center in the existing south warehouse building on the site located at 12721 12th Street in Paris. The range would be built to handle handguns, shotguns and rifles.

Well? Did they approve the shooting range last night?

    1. James: I don’t know. I did not attend the meeting. But the matter is on the agenda again for tonight’s Town Board meeting, which I will attend and report on any decision/discussion.

Thanks but, I just was able to see it in the Kenosha News – Paris tabled the matter. According to the newspaper, they required more information for noise abatment? I thought the whole range was going to be indoors – how much noise can be generated from inside of a building? I’m really not surprised though – they didn’t want the drag strip because of noise and light. However, they did approve more buildings at the electric plant off of County Line Road. Don’t those things make noise too? The Town is losing money each month, according to the town board, from the dump – why do they keep turning away businesses? I thought Walker said that “Wisconsin is open for business”. Maybe the rest of the state – not Paris.
