Units responding to crash on Highway 45; causing power outage

At about 7:50 p.m., Paris Fire and Rescue units and sheriff’s deputies are responding to a crash along Highway 45 near Highway NN in Paris.

Deputy on the scene reports one vehicle in the west ditch.

UPDATE 7:54 p.m. — Southbound lane being shut down; northbound remaining open.

UDATE 7:56 p.m. — Dispatch reports We Energies responding and nearby callers are reporting being without power.

UPDATE 7:59 p.m. — Tow truck responding.

UPDATE 8:08 p.m. – Sheriff’s deputy says utility pole was sheared off. We just received a call from a resident of the east side of Paddock Lake that says their house is out of power as are some others nearby.

UPDATE 8:11 p.m. — We Energies reports 574 customers effected by loss of power due to this crash.

UPDATE 10:03 p.m. — We Energies now says number of customers effected is less than five.

    Power at 50 & B came on and off 4 times within a minute. Lights are flashing at the corner as well.
