At 10:16 a.m., Town of Salem Fire/Rescue units are responding to a report of a fire alarm at a residence in the 25400 block of Highway K (60th Street) along the Brighton-Salem-Paddock Lake border.
UPDATE 10:17 a.m. — Dispatch advises responding units that caller at the scene reports no smoke or flames seen and this may be a false alarm.
UPDATE 10:22 a.m. — Fire units arriving on scene reports no signs of fire from exterior.
UPDATE 10:27 a.m. — Fire units at scene reports that homeowner says alarm likely from cooking. Fire units clearing the scene and returning to quarters.
