Units responding to crash in Paddock Lake; Flight for Life responding

At about 4:40 p.m., Town of Salem Fire/Rescue units and sheriff’s deputies are responding to a report of a crash in the 24300 block of Highway 50 in Paddock Lake.

Per dispatch: Two vehicles involved, both westbound lanes blocked and at least one person is injured.

UPDATE 4:43 p.m. — Fire/Rescue units arriving on scene confirms that two lanes are blocked.

UPDATE 4:47 p.m. — Fire personnel on the scene say there is one patient and someone will need to be freed from a vehicle.

UPDATE 4:51 p.m. — Flight for Life medical transport helicopter put on standby by fire/rescue command.

UPDATE 4:52 p.m. — Bristol Fire and Rescue dispatched to set up landing zone for Flight for Life.

UPDATE 5:02 p.m. — Flight for Life estimated time of arrival 5:12 p.m.

UPDATE 5:13 p.m. — Flight for Life on the ground at landing zone.

UPDATE 5:14 p.m. — Ambulance en route to landing zone.

UPDATE 5:17 p.m. — Ambulance arrives at landing zone.

UPDATE 9/25/2013 — Per a Sheriff’s Department report: Two vehicles were westbound on Highway 50, vehicle 1 being in the southern lane and vehicle 2 in the northern lane. Vehicle 1 made a left turn in front of vehicle 2. Driver of vehicle 1 received two citations. Driver of vehicle one was the one that was trapped. Injuries were believed to be non-life threatening.
