In the sweltering Falcons Nest Thursday night the Falcons swept the visiting Franklin Sabers 25-19, 25-20 and 25-19 before a loud Falcon crowd. The first set saw a seesaw battle finally tilt to the Falcons after Coach Schultz called a timeout with the Sabers riding a 17-15 lead. The Falcons behind Senior Brooks Gahart serving a critical 4 point stretch and a huge block by Sophomore Jordan Easthon moved the Falcons to within a point of the win and Nick Picchietti served out the win. In the second set, Central moved out to a fast lead at 12-4, and the Sabers fought back to make the game tight. However with the strong front line play of Junior Mike Skora, Glenn Karsten and Gahart, moved out to a lead and finished off the win with a resounding line kill by Skora. The third set was more of the same as the score would indicate, with strong serving by Junior Jordan Meyers, Gahart and Skora again providing untouched kills moving the Falcons to the sweep.
