The Moving Wall Remembrance Ceremony memorializes local Vietnam Battle dead

Thirty 35 Kenosha County residents who were killed on the battlefields of the Vietnam War were remembered Saturday in a ceremony held at a display of the Moving Wall in Pleasant Prairie.

The 35 included the following who have a Western Kenosha County hometown of record:

  • Daniel Garry Patrick of Salem.
  • John Stephen Schmid of Salem.
  • Thomas Glenn Brandes of Silver Lake.
  • Jerome Deane Lubeno of Trevor.

The Moving Wall is the half-size replica of the Washington, D.C. Vietnam Veterans Memorial. It was conceived of and built by Vietnam Veterans as a remembrance and healing tool for all those people who may never have a chance to visit the Memorial in Washington, D.C. The Moving Wall has been touring the country since 1984. It was at Prairie Springs Park last Thursday through today.
