The hay bale throwing competition is an annual part of Friday evening at the Kenosha County Fair.
The event is coordinated by the Slades Corners Lucky Clovers 4-H Club. Participants compete to see who can throw a bale of straw the farthest. Contestants are divided by age and gender, with the younger classes using a smaller bale as well.
Techniques vary, as does experience with hay bales. You don’t have to be a hale chucking expert to participate. Anyone can give it a toss.
