Scouts and other volunteers to clean-up Twin Lakes shoreline

A group of Boy Scouts and other volunteers will again conduct a clean-up of the shorelines of Lakes Mary and Elizabeth on Sept. 7, starting at 8 a.,m. at Lance Park in Twin Lakes.

The group will kayak/canoe/row/swim/walk the entire shoreline and shallow areas of both lakes to pick up any trash left over from the summer season. There will be coffee, donuts, and a short presentation by the Boy Scouts at Lance Park on the impact of water pollution. Volunteers will then divide in to teams based on number of participants and work their way to the Sand Bar at the south end of Lake Elizabeth where there will be food and drink specials for the participants.

Participants are asked to bring their own mode of transportation, personal flotation device, and reusable coffee/water /beverage container.
