Randall approves crack filling and slag sealing work for town roads

The Randall Town Board approved about $50,000 in crack filling and slag sealing work for select town roads.

The crack filling will cost about $19,000. It will performed on: roads on the southeast side of Powers Lake; some streets along the east side of Lake Benedict; part of 383rd Avenue and all of 87th Place off of Highway F; 376th Avenue, 378th Avenue and 380th Avenue off of Highway F; 120th Street and 33rd Avenue, 330th Avenue and 121st Place.

The slag sealing will cost $30,265. It will be performed on 385th Avenue off of Highway F; 383rd Avenue south of 87th Place and 88th Street; 117th Street/334th Avenue; 118th Street just south of Highway C.

All of the work will be performed by FarhnerAsphalt Sealers of Plover.

The board deferred another $18,000 of chip sealing work.

The vote to approve the crack filling and slag sealing was unanimous.

The board discussed the need to notify residents in the are of the slag sealing work that some tracking of the surface will occur on tires, shoes etc. for a few days after the work is done. Any stain should be able to able to washed off with water, Supervisor Randy Kaskin said.

“Road construction is never pretty and it’s never nice and it never neat,” said Supervisor Mike Halvorson.
