Thomas Salack, 62, of Powers Lake died today in Powers Lake, an apparent drowning victim, according to a Kenosha County Sheriff’s Department media release issued at 5:48 p.m.

Here is the full statement from KCSD:

On 06-25-13 at 1525 hours Deputies responded with Twin Lakes Rescue, Twin Lakes Police Dept. and Town of Randall Fire Dept. to a person found unresponsive in the waters of Powers Lake off of the Lake Side Park Beach in the Town of Randall. Twin Lakes Police responded for mutual aid because their officer was closer to the location than deputies at the time of the call. Thomas Salack, (62 years old, Powers Lake area resident) was found floating in the water off of the beach by other citizens who were at the beach. Witnesses had seen Salack enter the water approximately 25 minutes prior to him being found, but did not report hearing any swimmer distress during that time. CPR was administered by witnesses, but resuscitation was not successful. Drowning is suspected to be the cause of death pending the Medical Examiner’s Report. No foul play is suspected. Detectives are still on scene speaking to witnesses at this time.
