Pig roast & raffle will raise funds for new CHS football helmets

booster-chs-falconThe Westosha Central High School Football Team is hosting a Pig Roast & Raffle Event on Sunday, June 23 at Jeddy’s Bar 1660 240th Ave., Brighton, from noon to 6 pm. The event includes a Pig Roast Lunch, a Bean Bag Tournament, a large raffle and entertainment.

Proceeds from the event will help the Central Football Program purchase new concussion protection helmets and jerseys. According to a 2012 study of 20 high school sports reported that 13.2 percent of all injuries in the sports studied were concussions, two thirds (66.6 percent) in competition and one-third (33.4 percent) during practice. This fundraising event is a conscious effort by the booster club to do everything in its control to protect Central football players.

The cost of quality helmets is expensive. Each helmet is approximately $300.

Tickets are available in advance: Adults (13-64) $9, Children (6-12) $6, Seniors (65+) $6, Under 5 Free. Ticket prices will increase at the door. Tickets can be purchased at the CHS Athletic Office, at Jeddy’s or from football players.
