Brighton School celebrates 50 years

50-brighton-15The Brighton School community — present and past — celebrated the school’s 50th birthday Thursday at the school.

Keeping with the idea of looking back, there were various displays of newspaper clippings through the years, old school photos and yearbooks from years gone by. There also was a ledger used by the School Board in the mid 1970s to record meeting minutes. There was even birthday cake.

The birthday celebration was combined this year with the annual art walk, in which art work from all  grades is displayed in the gym

Here are some more photos from the event:

It would have been nice if the Brighton Community was aware of this celebration along with the Alumni who have an extensive history to this school. This along with past teaches who taught generations of families at Brighton. , that this special anniversary was not recognized by families who have lived in Brighton their whole life or most of it and made Brighton School a place that we were proud to have our children receive their education from. Shame on you. This sure was not the “Brighton Way” that was so much enforced by our previous Administrator. Thank you to her who made it a s

Way to go Diane!! It’s about time other parents start speaking their minds. I wish more parents would! I hope you mentioned it to our current Administrator? Even if you did he wouldnt care..he passed the buck on the 50th birthday why not his excuse on not inviting the community! No matter what his excuse was…shame on him! Definately NOT the “Brighton Way”
