The Salem Town Board at a special meeting Tuesday approved the purchase of 27 acres of property to the west of Town Hall.
The purchase price of the property was a total of about $126,630 or about $4,690 per acre, said town Clerk Cindi Ernest.
The funds will come from impact fees collected from developers and that have to be used for park land and park improvements.
The special meeting Tuesday started out with a closed session to discuss the purchase.
