Silver Lake American Legion to host Memorial Day Parade and ceremony

An entry from the 2011 Schultz-Hahn Memorial Day parade in Silver Lake.

The Annual Silver Lake Schultz-Hahn American Legion Post #293 Memorial Day Parade will be held on Monday, May 27.

Anyone interested in participating in the parade should be at Riverview School by 8:15 on Monday morning. Fire and rescue units will line-up on School Street. All other units will line-up on Prosser Street.

The parade will begin at 9 a.m. The route typically starts by Riverview School and travels east to Cogswell Drive where it will then goes south to 1st Street. It then follows 1st Street to Lake Street, then west on Lake Street to 2nd Street and then north on 2nd Street and then east again on Northwater Street ending back at the American Legion Hall parking lot.

There will be a ceremony honoring veterans immediately following the parade in the parking lot of the Legion Hall on Cogswell Drive. Free refreshments will be served following the ceremony.
