Standings Crowded Atop the SEWI SCTP Trapshooting Conference

Last week the Jefferson Eagles stood alone atop the standings of the Southeastern Wisconsin SCTP Conference; however, a journey to the Powers Lake Sportsmen’s Club to square off against second place Wilmot would force a three-way tie atop the standings with Burlington, Jefferson and Wilmot all with 7-1 records.

Burlington holds the edge in total birds, with Jefferson and Wilmot close behind.

Wilmot blasted the top score of the week tallying 122 targets behind John Lass and Steven Helen’s perfect rounds to break the Eagles seven-week win streak. Bryce Krause led Jefferson with a perfect round as they fell to 7-1 with a very solid 119 score. Burlington’s Jordan Hintz notched his fourth 25 in eight weeks to lead the Demons over Milwaukee Marquette in a very close match 117 to 115 to keep pace at the top of the standings. James McCroy and Devin Mcardle topped the Hilltoppers with 24 each. Lake Geneva Badger improved to 6-2 narrowly downing Westosha Central 118-117. Joe Freeman was perfect for the Badger while Dalton Karow notched his third 25 of the year to lead the Falcons. Another close match had Waterford narrowly downing Racine Lutheran 116 to 114. Brad Gabrhel and Clayton Zortman led the Wolverines with a par of 24’s while Frank Malvasio and Joseph Foley topped the Crusaders with 24 each. Union Grove notched their second victory of the season 114 to 106 over Oconomowoc. Paul Bisceglia led the Broncos with a 24 and Alana Nord paced the Cooney also with a 24. Cudahy was led by Andrea Turlick’s 23 but could not overcome the virtual score of 115 as the Packers posted a 105 score. Muskego carded 105 targets at Milwaukee Lutheran but fell to the virtual score of 114 as the Red Knights only field a JV squad this season. Daniel Dembrowski topped the Warriors with 23.

Winners in Junior Varsity were Milwaukee Lutheran, Union Grove, Waterford, Wilmot, Central and Marquette. Croy Kirsh of Badger led the Junior Varsity shooters with a 25.

Congratulations to the Burlington Intermediates (grades 5-8) who scored an impressive 121 this week. Hunter Conrad and Weston Uhlenhake’s perfect rounds led the Demons; Hunter Milbrath also had 25 for Jefferson’s Intermediate squad.

With just two weeks left in the Conference season, it should be fun to watch who comes out on top of the standings heading into the Conference Shoot on May 31 and June 1 at the Waukesha Gun Club. Many of the teams in the Conference will be attending the 41st Annual Wisconsin State High School Shoot this upcoming week at the Mayville Gun Club. Burlington comes to the event with a five-year run and teams from all over the state will be gunning to knock the Demons from the Gold.
