The Fox River briefly was under flood stage of 10 feet at the New Munster gauge. As recently as at 4:30 a.m., the river was measuring 9.95 feet.

But continued rain has started the river to rise again with a forecast of reaching a crest of 11 feet by Sunday morning, says the National Weather Service. At 9 a.m., the river was at 10.02 feet.

There is rain in the forecast through today and tonight. But then rain disappears from the forecast until Wednesday. Even then there is at this point just a 20 percent chance of rain Wednesday night and a 30 percent chance of rain Thursday.
