Westosha Central feeder basketball team takes third in Green Bay tournament

The 6th grade boy’s feeder basketball team for Westosha Central High School participated in the Wisconsin State Invitational Championship Basketball Tournament recently in the Green Bay area. There were 88 teams competing in 4 divisions based on the WIAA division that the high school competes in.

Westosha Central competed in the Division 2 bracket, which had a total of 22 teams from across the State and finished in 3rd Place. The boys played a total of seven games over two days with the following results: Westosha Central 41 Kaukauna 32; Westosha Central 49 Hortonville 32; Waupun 42 Westosha Central 28;

After the first three games teams are seeded with the top 16 teams being placed in a bracket style tournament. Here were the results: Westosha Central 31 Pulaski 26; Westosha Central 49 Elkhorn 25.

In the Semifinals game, Westosha Central lost to Seymour: Seymour 51 Westosha Central 43.  The team’s final game was the third place game against Waunakee: Westosha Central 50 Waunakee 45.

The Westosha Central team had a great weekend finishing 5 and 2 with the only losses to the first and second place teams.

Westosha team member Jaeden Zackery was selected to the All-Tournament team.

This group of boys had a very successful travel season finishing  with an overall record of 34-12.   They had first place finishes in tournaments in Burlington, Franklin and the tournament we hosted, as well as second place finishes in tournaments in Waukesha and Whitnall.
