Family, friends, fellow firefighters say good-bye to Robert Pattie

A full fire department funeral was held Monday for Robert Pattie, formerly of Silver Lake and a former member of Silver Lake Fire Department, Silver Lake Rescue Squad and a former full-time paramedic/firefighter with Salem Fire/Rescue, who died April 14 in a motorcycle crash in Colorado.

The funeral was held at Holy Cross Church-West in Wilmot.  Interment with military honors followed in the parish cemetery across Highway C.

He was working as a civilian firefighter at the Department at Buckley Air Force Base in Denver at the time of his death.

    Thank you on behalf of my family to everyone that helped in laying Robert to rest. The amount of support received by my family and I during this very difficult time is what is getting us through. We cannot thank all the fire departments, rescue squads, honor guards, the PGR, the Women’s Axillary, volunteers and friends enough for what you have all done. A very special thank you to Town of Salem Fire/Rescue for setting everything up so perfectly to honor my brother. Lastly, thank you to Scott from Buckley Air Force Base for escorting my brother home and Will for making the trip from Buckley. We are forever grateful to you all. Words cannot express how humbled we are by the outpouring of support during this very tragic experience!
