Roads, parks, donation on Salem annual meeting agenda

salem town logoSalem’s annual town meeting agenda has a number of items outside of the routine this year.

The meeting, at which electors — town residents of voting age — can vote on some provisions, will be held April 16 starting at 7 p.m., at Town Hall, 9814 Antioch Road (Highway 83).

Besides the typical annual financial report, the agenda includes:

  • Discussion and possible action on a proposed Resolution authorizing the Town of Salem to borrow funds in the amount of $3,000,000 for road/highway improvements.
  • Discussion and possible action on a request by the Sharing Center that the Town of Salem fund an annual amount in the Town’s budget for the Sharing Center.
  • Discussion and possible action on an application for a Dept. of Natural Resources grant and future funding for the park known as the Marchuk property.
  • Discussion and possible action on a request to renew the Town Board’s authority to purchase park land for another year.

There also could be other business “brought forth by electors of the Town of Salem under State Statute 60.10.”
