At 8:47 p.m. and one of four polling places reporting, early incomplete totals in the Bristol School District’s $5.3 million building project referendum are yes 198-no 167.
The $5.3 million budget for the project will add 14-18 new classrooms, a new music room, new art room, special education spaces and convert of the existing art classroom into a science classroom. Also included is the remodeling of the restrooms in the west building. School officials point out that retiring current debt this year means tax rates will not be affected the new borrowing.
UPDATE 9:16 p.m. — With three of four polls reporting incomplete results: Yes 515-No 375.
UPDATE 9:18 p.m. — With four of four polls reporting incomplete results: Yes 563-No 400.
UPDATE 10:10 p.m. — Final unofficial results: Yes 571-No 402.
I cant believe that people fell for this crock because they said that no extra money would be needed for the project. Come on people wake up this is the government thats all they know how to do is to pick pocket the taxpayers. Mark my word you will see a tax hike due to this project being given the green light so when you are paying more on your tax bill in the next few years because of this the only ones you are going to have to blame is yourselves.
disappointed bristol resident I think you are the one who needs to wake up!
