Fox River receding; flood warning still in effect

The Fox River is receding today after reaching a crest of 11.94 early Wednesday morning.

The 4 a.m. level at the New Munster measuring station was 11.7 feet. Current projections are for the river to stay above flood level (10 feet) until Wednesday, March 20. A flood warning is still in effect.

There’s no rain or snow in the forecast for today, but an 80 percent chance of rain/snow Friday. The high today should reach 34 and 42 Friday.
