Flood watch issued for the Fox River; still foggy

The National Weather Service has issued a flood watch for the Fox River at New Munster.

The latest available observation of the river at the New Munster measurement station has the river at 6.68 feet but rising quickly. The current forecast has the river exceeding 10 flood stage early late Monday night or very early Tuesday morning.

Rain is expected to continue this afternoon and night, perhaps changing to freezing drizzle later. The low temperature tonight will be 35.

Foggy conditions persist at 4 p.m. The current dense fog advisory is scheduled to elapse at 6 p.m.
