The bulk of the impact of the heavy snowfall expected for Tuesday has moved a little with the issuing of a winter storm warning for our area by the National Weather Service.
The warning will be in effect from 6 a.m. to midnight Tuesday. But snow could start tonight sometime, with less than an inch of accumulation forecast.
The local forecast is calling for 4 to 6 inches of snow accumulation Tuesday with another 1 to 2 inches Tuesday night. Winds will be around 15 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph.
There will be a 20 percent chance of yet more snow Wednesday, but then the forecast is free of snow (but not rain) and temperatures will begin to climb into the low 40s by the weekend.
