Western Kenosha County Historical Society is hosting their 7th Blurt It Out! on Sunday, Feb. 17.
This year will feature Twin Lakes. The event will be at the Lakewood School Library, entrance on the south of the school building at 1218 Wilmot Ave, Twin Lakes.
Arrival to be at 12:15 and starting promptly at 1 p.m. Light refreshments will be available and lots of pictures and discussion throughout the time. Dress is casual!
For those who are not familiar, the society shows images on a screen and invites anyone in the audience to reminisce, ask questions, share info… the speed of the images depends on the discussion. It is not a raise your hand event, it is a blurt it out event. By the time the group is into the 10th pic, everyone is family and comfy. It is great for those interested in history, want to know about where they live, and who have knowledge to share or wish to learn. It is not for kids.
The historical society encourages our elders to come and teach us. Those who were in business and who did business in Twin Lakes are welcomed for they know the people and the side of the resort area that resorters did not know. It is free, but the society can always use donations. The CD of the SUMMER ENCHANTMENT – A HISTORY OF TWIN LAKES will be available for purchase at $15. and all the proceeds go to the society to further education of where we live.
