The National Weather Service has issued a flood warning for the Fox River at New Munster.

At 6 p.m., the river was at 7.68 feet. Flood stage is 10 feet.

The forecast calls for the river to raise above flood stage by Thursday morningĀ andĀ peak at 10.7 feet.

My personal observation driving from Kenosha to Paddock Lake between 6 and 6:30 p.m. down Highway K was that the fog was thick enough to cause me to reduce my speed for most of the way.

New rainfall amounts between three quarters and one inch are possible tonight.

The rain is expected to change to snow by 9 a.m., Wednesday, with temperatures falling. There could be 1 to 2 inches of snow accumulation, the NWS says.

Looks like the railroad crossing on highway C is down too. They have a deputy out there blocking traffic as of 7:25 pm
