The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Watch for an area that includes Kenosha County from Sunday morning until late Sunday night.
The forecast calls for snow in the morning changing to snow and sleet perhaps with freezing rain after noon. There’s a 100 percent chance of some kind of precipitation, but snow and sleet accumulation is expected to be less than a half inch here.
Among the hazards cited by the storm watch statement are:
- Snow and ice covered roads.
- Treacherous travel Conditions.
- Untreated walking surfaces will be slippery and dangerous.
- Accumulations of ice could down power lines.
