Units responding for crash in Salem

At 7:26 a.m., units from Salem Fire/Rescue and sheriff’s deputies are responding to a report of a crash in the 8800 block of Fox River Road in Salem.

Crash reportedly involves one car that left the road and struck a pole, dispatch reports. Power lines are down and arcing.

UPDATE 7:29 a.m. — We Energies also being called to the scene.

UPDATE 7:33 a.m. – Silver Lake Rescue also being dispatched to the scene as it in their service area. Wires are down across the road and pole is completely down, personnel at the scene reports.

UPDATE 7:45 a.m. — Deputy reports that a speed limit sign and a phone junction box also were hit. A town truck is responding to the scene.

    I was behind this car this morning and had seen the accident happen and called 911. I wish I was able to get to the car to see if everyone was Ok. Because of the power lines down I couldn’t. I stayed until help arrived. I hope that everyone in that car is OK.
