The cost of an owner retrieving a lost dog in Randall if it has to be kept by the town went up tonight.
The Randall Town Board voted to institute a $20 per day kenneling fee for when stray animals have to be kept by the town. The fee is designed to recover some of the incidental expenses — like food — that go into housing the animal, said town Chairman Bob Stoll.
The kenneling fee is in addition to the $50 fee someone needs to pay to recover their animal.
The measure passed unanimously.
The $20 fee will apply for each calendar day the town houses the dog, Stoll said.
