It may be snowing today in Western Kenosha County, but if you were hoping to have those flakes lay down a good layer for snowmobiling or  sledding or skiing or such you’re likely to be disappointed, says the National Weather Service.

While the local forecast calls for snow today and maybe tonight, accumulations are pegged at less than .5 inch for each period. The current special weather statement says snow fall will be the lightest nearest the Illinois border.

Perhaps the bigger weather news is set to hit Tuesday with forecasts calling for highs in the teens New Year’s Day and then again Thursday.
