UPDATE: Rain beginning turn to snow at 3:35 p.m.

WEATHER-ALERT-logo-all-3-webA little ahead of schedule the rain that has been falling all days is beginning to look a little white in Paddock Lake at about 3:36 p.m. No accumulation yet.

Not much as changed in the National Weather Service’s forecast for the area. A winter storm warning remain in effect from 5 p.m. to 3 a.m. Their may not be a lot of snow accumulation at 1 to 3 inches total, but the blowing snow may be very significant with wind speeds of 20 to 30 mph, with gusts as high as 50 mph tonight. Travel will become “difficult to impossible,” the NWS says in the warning.

UPDATE about 4:05 p.m. — Snow starting to stick to the grass and house shingles.

UPDATE 4:55 p.m. — Report from the road: Streets getting a little slushy. County plow trucks out salting.

UPDATE 9:30 p.m. — About .5 inch of snow in Paddock Lake.
