Kaskin Park dedicated

Members of the Kaskin Family gather around the new sign for Kaskin Park, formerly Bassett Park, in Randall.

Bassett Park officially has a new name after being dedicated as Kaskin Park in a ceremony held today in Randall.

The re-naming recognizes the Kaskin family for over 50 years of continuous community service, which continues to this day, said Randall town Chairman Bob Stoll.

The Town of Randall Town Clerk position was first occupied by Bill Kaskin in 1945. He was succeeded by his wife, Phyllis, immediately after his death in 1967. Phyllis still holds the position today. Phyllis’ son, Randy Kaskin, is currently a town supervisor.

Phyllis said she was very surprised by the honor after the new park sign was unveiled.
