At noon, deputies are investigating several reports of a loud explosion like noise heard in the southern-central part of Western Kenosha County.
UPDATE 12:04 p.m. — Deputy reports that several people he has talked to felt the sound came from a distance to the southeast.
fireworks. big ones.. very intermittant… perhaps 5 so far…Sunset Oaks not far from the Public Access.
I heard it at 50 & B. My dog jumped and then went under the bed!
Why are people setting off large fireworks and where is sunset oaks? I don’t think its just fireworks because i hear an “explosion” noise quite often. Normally around 9 pm a few times a week but the sound only happens once a day. My aunt and her neighbors have also heard loud explosion sounds to the point that they all ran outside because it sounded like a bad car accident. I think this is weird and would like to know what it is since i don’t think fireworks are the only thing to blame. The noise can be heard from Montgomery lake highlands and from hooker lake by the post office.
I live off hwy 50 near Silver Lk and heard it. I believe its explosives. Back in Jan. and last Dec I heard it but those 2 times shook our home, they were very close. Something needs to be done to find out what it is.
