The Paris Town Board on Tuesday unanimously approved a $300,00 advance on the January 2013 tax distribution for the Paris School District.
This will allow the school district to avoid borrowing from a bank to cover cash flow in December, which Paris district administrator Roger Gahart said is a common instance for many school districts.
“December always is a rough month for school districts with cash flow,” Gahart said.
A similar request has been made by the district and granted the last three years as well.
The vote to grant the advance was unanimous.
“We appreciate that you would consider this,” said Deanna Krumm, School Board president.
Good job Town Board. It’s nice to see the money being used for the town’s best interest. No school=property tax through the roof compared to now.
