The Bristol Village Board Monday renewed its contract for police protection with the Kenosha County Sheriff’s Department.
The year’s contract, which provides additional police coverage for the village, cost the village about $280,000. That is about the same amount the village paid last year, said Randy Kerkman village administrator.
Officials expressed satisfaction with the service. Kerkman said he has had feedback from residents that the sheriff’s deputy presence has helped control speeding and curb the threat of burglaries.
“I think they’ve been doing a good job for us,” Kerkman said.
The vote to renew the contract was unanimous, with Trustee John McCabe absent.
