Sheriff’s Department promotions and re-assignments announced

The Kenosha County Sheriff’s Department has issued the following press release regarding promotions and other personnel changes at the department:

Measures passed by the Kenosha County Board of Supervisors in the 2013 budget and a retirement will mean changes at the Kenosha County Sheriff’s Department.

Sheriff David Beth announces the retirement of Captain Paul Falduto. Captain Falduto’s retirement is effective on December 14th, 2012. Captain Falduto has been with the Sheriff’s Department for over 30 years. During that time he has held the ranks of Deputy, Detective, Sergeant, Lieutenant, and Captain. Sheriff Beth said, “I am grateful for the many years that Paul has served our community and the Sheriff’s Department. I wish him a long and happy retirement.”

Lieutenant Ken Weyker will be promoted to the rank of Captain effective December 14 th and has already assumed the rank of Acting Captain in order to begin learning his new responsibilities. Captain Weyker will be responsible for the Field Operations Division of the Sheriff’s Department which includes the Detective Bureau and Patrol. Captain Weyker has been with the Sheriff’s Department since 1989 and has held the ranks of deputy, detective, sergeant and lieutenant. Captain Weyker has been involved with the Tactical Response Team and has been the TRT Commander for the past several years.

When the 2013 budget was passed by the Kenosha County Board of Supervisors a Lieutenants position was changed to a Captains position. There will now be three Captains at the Sheriff’s Department. Lieutenant Robert Hallisy will be promoted to the rank of Captain effective January 1, 2013 and has already assumed the rank of Acting Captain in order to begin learning his new responsibilities. Captain Hallisy will be responsible for the Detentions Division of the Sheriff’s Department which includes the Pre-trial facility (Downtown Jail), Kenosha County Detentions Center (KCDC Jail by the airport), and Prisoner Conveyance (transfer of prisoners to & from court and jail). The Detentions Division commands two-thirds of the Sheriff’s Departments budget and staff. Captain Hallisy has been with the Sheriff’s Department since 1990 and has held the ranks of deputy, sergeant, and lieutenant. Captain Hallisy has also been involved in TRT command for the past several years.

On December 1st Captain Larry Apker will take command of the newly formed Administrative Services Division of the Sheriff’s Department. This Division is responsible for Fiscal and Personnel issues, Civil Process, Emergency Management, Public Relations, Training, Planning, and Internal Investigations. Captain Apker has been with the Sheriff’s Department since 1986. He has been a Captain since 2002 and has had the opportunity to manage the Detentions and Field Operations Divisions prior to this new assignment.

Additional promotions were made subsequent to the captain’s promotion. Sergeant Tom Gilley will assume the rank of Lieutenant. Lt. Gilley has been with the Sheriff’s Department since 1998 and will become the Third Shift Patrol Commander. Detective Dan Ruth will assume the rank of Sergeant. Sgt. Ruth has been with the Sheriff’s Department since 1996 and will become a Third Shift Patrol Sergeant. Deputy Jason Sielski will assume the rank of Detective. Detective Sielski has been with the Sheriff’s Department since 2007.

In addition the following supervisor re-assignments will take place:

  • Lt. Mark Krueger will assume command of the Detective Bureau.
  • Sergeant Robert Croeker will move from Conveyance to 1st Shift Patrol Supervision.
  • Sergeant Mike Weyker will move from 1st Shift Patrol to the Sergeant of Communications and Support Services.
  • Sergeant Horace Staples will move from the Sergeant of Communications and Support Services to the Sergeant of Training.
  • Sergeant David Zoerner will move from 3rd Shift Patrol to Conveyance.
