Wilmot Union High School students and staff celebrated the nation’s veterans Friday in the school’s annual Veterans Days assembly.
The assembly included musical performances from students and a slide show. Community veterans were invited to attend a breakfast at the school and then have a place of honor at the ceremony, held in the fieldhouse.
This year’s guest speaker was film director Dan Hayes. Hayes’ directed “Honor Flight,†a documentary about WWII Vets. The movie set the record for most people attending an outdoor movie when it was shown at Miller Park this fall. “Honor Flight†was screened at Wilmot after the assembly.
