Paris School students celebrated the success of this year’s Panther Prowl walkathon fundraiser at an assembly Thursday afternoon.
Students, parents and staff also said good-bye at the assembly to the prowl’s founder and chief organizer for the last seven years, Lisa Ashmus. Ashmus, who also is a School Board member, has said she will not head-up next year’s prowl.
Students read Ashmus a poem about the prowl and its origins and presented her with several gifts, including a bracelet and a t-shirt signed by the whole student body. Here’s video of the poem reading:
This year’s prowl raised a record $21,488.
A highlight of the assembly for students is being selected to douse volunteer staffers with Silly String and shaving cream pies. Here’s some video of that fun:
Hello,
My name is Alexis Madison and I am the current social media intern for SILLY STRING Brand Spray Streamer. We recently found this article and wondered if anyone know how we could get in contact someone who works at the Paris School and could talk to us a little bit about the event. I can always be reached by the email address if there are any questions.
Best,
Alexis
