Twin Lakes village officials and representatives of  Bear Development held a groundbreaking ceremony today at the site of the residential-commercial building Bear is building downtown.

Representatives of Bear’s general contractor Construction Management Associates were also available.

The building, which will be located on Main Street just east of Burden Avenue  will have  24 senior  1 and 2 bedroom apartments and 3,000 square feet of commercial space on the ground floor.

“This project will be a great enhancement to Main Street. We look forward to welcoming the tenants to downtown, where great eats, Lance Park and the Community Library are just a short walk away,” said village administrator Jennifer Pollitt.

The development is financed by Citibank, Boston Capital and Bear Development. The development was also awarded $299,000 in low income housing tax credits from Wisconsin Housing and Economic Development Authority.
