Stateline Dance Club is sponsoring “Another Stately Dance†& Halloween Swing Thing on Saturday, Oct. 6 from 7 to 11 pm, at the 90-year-old “sprung floor†of the Twin Lakes Ballroom (now know as Rumpoles Wonder Bar). It is the largest and oldest ballroom in WI & IL – and, is where many of the old time Big Bands played. Names include Glen Miller, both Dorseys and Lawrence Welk – who was the resident musician for the summer of 1931.
Admission of $15 for Singles and $25 for Couples – and, includes a 45 minute Lindy Hop Swing lesson by professional Milwaukee instructor Maureen Majeski of Jumpin’ Jive Club, music by DJ Mike of the Pfat Kats, a Showcase Dance, appetizers, a wide variety of strict tempo music and shoes for sale by Traveling Dance Shoes. Attire is dressy/casual & dancers of all levels are invited.
