At 9:07 p.m., Kenosha County is now under a severe thunderstorm warning issued by the National Weather Service.
The warning is in effect until 10:30 p.m.
Text of the warning says:
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED A LINE OF SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS CAPABLE OF PRODUCING QUARTER SIZE HAIL...AND DESTRUCTIVE WINDS IN EXCESS OF 70 MPH. THESE STORMS WERE LOCATED ALONG A LINE EXTENDING FROM MAYVILLE TO DOUSMAN TO 7 MILES NORTH OF CLINTON...AND MOVING EAST AT 35 MPH.
SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS PRODUCE DAMAGING WIND IN EXCESS OF 60 MILES PER HOUR...DESTRUCTIVE HAIL...DEADLY LIGHTNING...AND VERY HEAVY RAIN. FOR YOUR PROTECTION MOVE TO AN INTERIOR ROOM ON THE LOWEST FLOOR OF YOUR HOME OR BUSINESS. HEAVY RAINS FLOOD ROADS QUICKLY SO DO NOT DRIVE INTO AREAS WHERE WATER COVERS THE ROAD.

UPDATE 10:12 p.m. — Now it’s raining — but not pouring.
10:21 p.m. — Rain harder now and thunder can be heard clearly.
10:45 p.m. — Deputies responding to report of of a large tree down in the 21200 block of Highway V in Briatol.
10:55 p.m. — NWS has let warning expire; watch continues until 11 p.m.
