3rd Annual Fundraiser Dinner for Farm Fresh Atlas of Southeastern Wisconsin is Sept. 15

Tickets are now available for the 3rd Annual Farm Fresh Atlas Fundraiser Dinner, to be held at 6 pm, Saturday, September 15th at the historic Oconomowoc Lake Club.

Kenosha County residents are invited to attend.

Jack Kaestner, former executive chef at the Club, Peter Sandroni of Milwaukee’s acclaimed restaurant La Merenda, and Bruce Evans, Culinary Instructor at MATC along with Tyler Sailsbery from Black Sheep Restaurant in Whitewater and the Oconomowoc Lake Club staff will oversee the menu, crafted with care and showcasing the harvests of southeastern Wisconsin farmers.

The story of the dinner will not begin and end with the menu, however. The farmers and artisans that grow the food are in attendance, first offering hors d’oeuvres featuring their products, and then joining the guests in enjoying the chefs’ entrees and desserts. A silent auction, largely composed of gift certificates to local restaurants and attractions, or gift baskets of locally-grown farm produce or artisan foods, is held at the dinner event. All proceeds benefit the printing of the Farm Fresh Atlas of Southeastern Wisconsin, the primary marketing tool for many local, sustainable farms in Southeast Wisconsin.

“I feel like you need the recognition in the Atlas. It solidifies if you are a qualified farm. It is the directory people turn to when they are looking for a farm or a farm resource,” says Meg Kelly, of High Meadow Farm in Jefferson County, who lists in the Atlas.

To order tickets for the dinner and silent auction, register online at http://www.farmfreshatlas.org/southeast/fundraiser.htm or contact Rose Skora, at 857-1945 or rose.skora@ces.uwex.edu. The Farm Fresh Atlas of Southeastern Wisconsin is a joint effort of UW-Extension, Slow Food Wisconsin Southeast, Town and Country RC&D and the University of Wisconsin-Parkside.
