Consider entering one of the daily duck races.
For $1 you can have a duck in the race down a segment of the fairgrounds creek. If your duck wins, you get half the take.
The races are run at noon and 5 p.m. each day of the fair.
The races are a lot of fun to watch and can get pretty competitive too. Here’s some video of one of the Wednesday races:
